Tom Adams is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a lifetime fly fisherman.  Taught by his father who was born in the NC mountains of Watauga County.  After decades of warm water, Tom has focused on cold water and trout for the past twenty-five years.  Past President of Rocky River Trout Unlimited with nine hundred members and currently NC state Coordinator of Trout in the Classroom. He teaches fly tying for RRTU and is a co-founder and leader of the 14-year-old program.  He has taught fly tying at the River course which is a TU youth initiative and weeklong camping experience.  Tied, wrote recipes, and photographed three books on Southern Appalachian trout flies with Alen Baker.  Co-founded a Fly of the Month online program starting with Tim Wilhelm and continuing with Alen Baker for twelve years.  Tom’s original trade was the chief photographer and head of a large advertising catalog studio and most recently head of photography at the NASCAR Hall of Fame before retiring three years ago.
