Valarie is the founder of the central Oregon Fly Tyers Guild and the current club secretary. The art of creating flies from feathers is what drew her to the fly tying. Thirteen years later, she is still learning and enjoying the fine company of other tyers. Valarie also writes narrative non-fiction to indulge her love of research, archaeology, and history.
